Master Mahmoud Farshchian is a Persian
artist, sculptor and painter. He is
popularly known for his expertise in the area of miniatures. This is sort of

Birth
and early life
Mahmoud Farshchian was born on January 24th
1930. His birth took place in the city of Isfahan, Iran. Isfahan is a city of
art and has numerous successful artists. Mahmoud’s father worked as a rug
seller, and was so passionate about art. It was him that introduced his young
son to the field of art. He, Mahmoud Farshchian, did not disappoint his father,
as his interest for art began at the age of five.

It was clear that he wanted to be an artist
after growing up. So he enrolled in school and received guidance from Isa
Bahadori. Also, Haji Mirza-Agha Emami is mentioned as one of his early tutors.
Then he graduated with a diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts based in
Isfahan.
Travelled
abroad
After receiving a high school diploma in
fine arts, Master Mahmoud Farshchian travelled to Europe. After arrival, he
grabbed the opportunity to further his studies via the tutelage of renowned
Western masters of Painting. Hence, his creativity, artistic abilities and
style began to gain global appeal.
Return
to Isfahan
When he travelled back home in Isfahan,
Master Mahmoud Farshchian started to work in the General Office of Fine Arts.
This was later changed to the Ministry of Culture and Art. Later on, Mr.
Mahmoud was promoted to the position of administrator of National Arts. Shortly
after, he became an art professor in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tehran
University. While holding this position, Mahmud made very many unique pieces of
art. News about his innovative and
excellent art pieces spread beyond Iran.
Moving
to the USA
Mahmoud Farshcian then moved to New York
City in the United States of America. He brought many of his exemplary
masterpieces to the U.S, and they were quickly accepted by these
entities:Harvard University, The British Library, Metropolitan Museum, Freer
Gallery of Art and Bibliotheque Nationale.
Distinctive painting style
Farshcian
has mastered the art of Iranian painting. Using new techniques, he has
expounded the scope of Iranian painting. He is thought to be an artist who has
worked hard to separate Iranian Painting from the bonds it has had historically
with literature and poetry. This form of painting is independent and separate
now, thanks to the great efforts of Mahmoud Farshcian.

his painting skills innovative and matchless. They are also dynamic, vibrant
and liberal. His style combines modern and conventional painting methods.
Master Mahmoud has played a very imperative role in introducing Iranian
painting art to the rest of the world through many exhibitions and invitations
to speak in art institutes and universities.
Achievements
that are worth mentioning
So far, Master Mahmoud Farshchian’s
masterpieces have been displayed in fifty-seven
individual exhibitions/art shows and eighty-six group shows in his
country, Asian nations, USA and Europe. He has been given more than ten awards
by different art institutes and cultural centers. Master Mahmoud owns a grade 1
in arts doctorate in Iranian painting as well as Islamic arts from the High
Council of Culture and Art.
The Museum of Master Mahmoud Farshcian
marks his best achievements. It is a museum that showcases the wonderful works
of Mahmoud. The museum of Master Mahmound was created by the Cultural Heritage
Foundation located in Sa’dabad Cultural Complex based in Tehran that was
launched in 2001.
Mahmoud Farshcian’s other achievements
include the craftsmanship of the Zarih found in the shrine of Ali ibn
Mus’ar-Reza, the eighth Shiite Imam. Mr.
Farshcian has founded his own school of fine arts that teaches his painting
styles that are inspired even by the Koran as well as Judaism and Christianity
holy books. But his greatest pieces of art are inspired by human emotions and
moods and he is able to bring out perfectly in figures and faces.
Now living in New Jersey, Master Mahmound
Farshcian is said to have a soft spot for music and nice rhythms. While
listening to sweet sounds, his creative brain and talented hands are turned on
to do what he does best. Mahmound has
written many books and publications that have helped many aspiring painters and
artists accomplish their dreams.
Personal
life
Farshcian is a father to a son, Alimorad
Farshcian MD, a practicing doctor in Florida. Leila Farshcian Moradmand, a
behavior analyst working in New Jersey is Mahmoud’s daughter.
